Agartala, Jan 11: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president J.P. Nadda will arrive in Tripura on Thursday to take part in the closing programme of BJP’s Jan Viswas Yatra.
The BJP president is scheduled to address a public rally at Umakanta Academy ground apart from taking part in other programmes.
The Jana Viswas Yatra, an election campaign of the ruling party, saw massive response from the people at various places. Two Vijay Raths flagged-off by Union Home Minister Amit Shah from North Tripura and South Tripura would enter Agartala on Thursday.
Nadda would join the Ratha Yatra (road show) in the city and move through various roads before reaching Umakanta ground.
The BJP Karyakartas from various constituencies in West Tripura district would join the closing programme.
All units of BJP are ready to offer a rousing welcome to the party chief at the land of Mata Tripura Sundari.
Meanwhile, soon after reaching Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport, Agartala, Nadda would go to Bhumihin Colony at Lankamura border area and interact with the local people. He would then have lunch at a party karyakarta’s home.
Next, the BJP national president would join the Jana Viswas Yatra and he would also hold a meeting with the party’s state core committee before leaving the state. In the meeting, Nadda in all likelihood would discuss the candidates for the ensuing assembly polls.
According to party sources, as there was spontaneous response from the people across the state including Janajati areas, the BJP is expecting to win minimum 50 seats. The state would go to polls likely in third week of February and the election is likely to be declared in next few days.
