Agartala, June 18: Tripura cabinet cleared the proposals for filling up 469 posts including recruitment of medical officers, a minister said on Tuesday.
Announcing the recruitment drive at a press conference, Minister for Tourism and cabinet spokesman Sushanta Chowdhury said, the state government would create and fill up 226 posts of General Duty Medical Officers under the Health department. The recruitment would be conducted by the Tripura Public Service Commission.
Besides, 16 posts of super specialist doctors and 172 posts of specialist doctors would also be filled up under the Health department, Chowdhury said, adding that the recruitment would be conducted by the TPSC.
He said, as decided by the state government earlier, PRTC would be mandatory for all these jobs. The recruitment of medical officers aims at strengthening the healthcare services across the state.
The cabinet decisions also included filling up of 49 vacant posts of Sub-Officers under Fire and Emergency Services department. The direct recruitment in these posts would be done through TPSC.
The council of ministers also cleared a proposal for recruitment of six Food Sub-Inspectors through Joint Recruitment Board of Tripura (JRBT), he said.
In another move, the state cabinet decided to re-appoint 67 retired police officers on contractual basis and depute them in three immigration centres at Maharaja Bir Bikram airport, Agartala, Nischintapur Railway Station and ICT at Sabroom. Along with the officers on re-appointment, the total strength in the three immigration centres would be 85.
He said, a proposal would be sent to the Ministry of Home Affairs to declare immigration centre at the airport and after clearance of the proposal, the much-awaited international air connectivity would commence.
Replying to a query, the Food minister said that the state has sufficient buffer stocks of essential commodities.
