Tripura: Class IX students face exam anxiety as Social Science Textbooks yet to arrive

 With just a week left before their first periodic assessment, students of Class IX at Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Vidya Jyoti School, Charilam, affiliated to the CBSE Board, are grappling with uncertainty and stress. The absence of Social Science (SST) textbooks, which have still not reached their hands, has left them struggling to prepare for the upcoming exams scheduled to begin on July 13.

Students voiced their frustration, saying that without the prescribed NCERT textbooks, preparing for the subject has become nearly impossible. They demanded immediate intervention to ensure the books are supplied before the exams commence. 

“Studying without the textbook is extremely difficult. We want NCERT to deliver the books quickly so we can prepare properly,” said one of the students.

School Principal Manimay Bhowmik, speaking to the media, confirmed that the institution has already contacted the concerned authorities regarding the issue. 

However, despite repeated communication, the books have not yet arrived. He admitted that the delay is directly affecting the students’ study schedule and exam readiness.

Parents too have expressed deep concern, urging the authorities to resolve the matter swiftly. They stressed that the lack of textbooks at such a crucial time is unfair to the students and could impact their performance.

The situation has sparked widespread anxiety among the students, who now find themselves caught between looming exams and inadequate resources.
