
Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Sunday announced a one-time grant for the development of 'Sanskriti Haat, an initiative of Bangla Sanskriti Boloy to preserve and promote Bengali culture.
He made this announcement while attending the celebration of 100th Sanskriti Haat at Senpara in Nandannagar under the West Tripura district.
He said, the Sanskriti Haat embodies the true spirit of cultural and social bonding.
Apart from entertainment, this initiative also contributes to socio-economic development in the area, benefitting around 40-50 families through Self Help Groups.
The Chief Minister said, considering the livelihood opportunities of the local people, the state government decided to provide a one-time financial grant of Rs. 50.25 lakh for the development of Sanskriti Haat. He said, the fund will be given to Old Agartala Block through Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM).
The Chief Minister noted, this initiative would encourage the Yuba Shakti towards promoting the rich culture.
He also said that several initiatives are being taken by the government to revive the lost culture. He reiterated the government's commitment to preserving cultural heritage and tradition.
Minister for Social Welfare and Social Education Tinku Roy, local MLA Ratan Chakraborty, vice-chairman of state cultural advisory committee Subrata Chakraborty, West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar, CEO TRLM Tarit Kanti Chakma and Sebak Bhattacharjee of Bangla Sanskriti Boloy were present.

In the event, captivating dance performances by the artists, promoting the culture, were appreciated by all.

The Weekly Sanskriti Haat that has been initiated with the model of Sonajhuri Haat of Shantiniketan already gained huge popularity among the people.
