tripura cm asks officials to take action against spa centres without license

Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday asked the officials concerned to take action against the Spa centres without license. He was speaking at a meeting of the Task Monitoring System at the secretariat.

The Chief Minister directed the administration to adopt a more proactive, sensitive and responsible approach towards issues directly affecting the public, stressing that officials should identify problems on their own and initiate prompt action instead of waiting for media reports or complaints from citizens.

At the beginning of the meeting, Chief Minister’s Secretary and Information and Cultural Affairs Secretary Kiran Gitte presented an illustrated report on the functioning of the TMS portal and the overall mechanism for monitoring social and electronic media content related to government departments. Issues concerning various departments that had appeared in the media and on social media were also reviewed during the meeting.

The Chief Minister emphasized the need for coordination and accountability at every level of the administration. He directed officials to listen to people’s grievances with courtesy and ensure their speedy resolution.

He said District Magistrates, as the administrative heads of their respective districts, should regularly review the overall situation in their areas and ensure necessary action on important issues.

Regarding the problem of illegal parking in the Golbazar area, Dr. Saha stressed the need for effective measures and instructed the SP (Traffic) to conduct an on-the-spot inspection and take appropriate action.

The Chief Minister also reviewed healthcare-related issues, particularly the functioning of trauma centres. He stressed that trauma centres must remain fully operational and prepared at all times to save lives during accidents and other emergencies.

He further directed the concerned departments to conduct regular awareness programmes for the prevention of non-communicable diseases and remain vigilant in efforts to control malaria.

The maintenance of Bailey bridges across the state also came up for discussion. Dr. Saha directed the concerned departments to identify bridges requiring repairs and undertake the necessary work promptly to ensure safe connectivity.

Expressing concern over elephant-related problems in populated areas, the Chief Minister called for greater intervention by the Forest Department and other concerned officials. He suggested seeking expert advice and technical assistance, wherever necessary, to address the issue effectively.

He also stressed the need for practical, long-term solutions based on local conditions to ensure the safety of people living in areas affected by human-elephant conflict.
The Chief Minister also directed the concerned department to regularly assess the effectiveness and practical implementation of smart classrooms in schools and submit performance reports.

On sports-related matters, Saha instructed departments to take advance measures to ensure that administrative complexities do not hamper the talent, participation or careers of sportspersons. He stressed that no athlete should lose an opportunity because of procedural complications or unnecessary delays in official processes.
The Chief Minister also urged District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police to maintain continuity in their public-oriented work and discharge their responsibilities with greater dedication, sincerity and accountability.

District Magistrates and district police officials from all districts participated in Tuesday’s TMS meeting virtually. Principal Secretaries, Secretaries, Directors and other senior officials from various departments were also present.
