
In a bid to further improve and make healthcare services more people-centric, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha paid a surprise visit to GBP Hospital on Monday.

During the inspection, the Chief Minister reviewed various hospital services and interacted with the family members of several patients to understand their experiences and concerns.

He also issued necessary directions to health officials to address shortcomings and rectify deficiencies observed in certain areas.

Speaking to reporters after the visit, the Chief Minister said that healthcare services are, sometimes, disrupted due to inadequate management. Keeping this in mind, he stressed the need to explore the development of modern facilities at GBP Hospital on the lines of the newly inaugurated Agartala Civil Hospital.

He said such inspection visits would continue in the coming days as part of the government's efforts to further strengthen the state's healthcare delivery system.

Health Secretary Kiran Gitte, Dr. Tapan Majumdar, and other health officials accompanied the Chief Minister during the inspection.
