Tripura CM emphasizes completion of Agartala Smart City projects before Durga Puja

Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Saturday emphasized that all ongoing Smart City projects in Agartala should be completed before the upcoming Durga Puja.

The Chief Minister inspected several ongoing development works under the Smart City Mission from Bidurkarta Chowmuhani to Purbasha and adjoining areas to review the progress of infrastructure projects aimed at transforming the state capital into a modern, clean and citizen-friendly city.

During the visit, Dr. Saha held detailed discussions with officials on the status of the projects and instructed them to complete the works within the stipulated timeframe without compromising on quality. 

He emphasized that the projects should be ready before the festive season so that residents can benefit from improved civic infrastructure during Durga Puja.

Speaking to reporters after the inspection, the Chief Minister said the opposition had often criticized the government but failed to undertake significant developmental works during their tenure.

"They only raised slogans, whereas our government believes in delivering through action. In a short period, we have ensured visible development across various sectors of the state," he said.

Dr. Saha said the government is implementing long-term infrastructure projects across Agartala and other parts of Tripura at a rapid pace. 

He reiterated the government's commitment to developing the capital into a clean, modern and people-friendly city through improved roads, drainage systems and enhanced public spaces.

Agartala Mayor Dipak Majumder, Corporator Ratna Dutta, Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, Chief Minister's secretary Kiran Gitte, Municipal Commissioner Saju Wahid, and other officials of the Agartala Municipal Corporation and Agartala Smart City Limited accompanied the Chief Minister during the inspection.
