Tripura CM participates in traditional Ker Puja

Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday participated in the traditional Ker Puja, one of Tripura’s most significant festivals and an integral part of the cultural heritage of the indigenous communities.

On Tuesday, the rituals were conducted in accordance with traditions at the Rajbari premises in Agartala.

Speaking to reporters at the Ujjayanta Palace complex, the Chief Minister said that Ker Puja is a traditional worship of the Vastu Devata and holds immense cultural and spiritual significance in Tripura.

He said the primary objective of the puja is to seek protection for the people of the state from epidemics, natural calamities, evil forces and other adversities, while praying for peace, prosperity and well-being for all.

Dr. Saha explained that during the observance of Ker Puja, a sacred line is drawn around a designated area, and strict restrictions are imposed on movement into and out of the demarcated zone throughout the ritual period.

The Chief Minister also stated that the present government has been extending due respect to the royal-era traditions and the various indigenous festivals and cultural practices of the state.

Extending his greetings to the people on the occasion, Dr. Saha urged everyone to live together in harmony and unity, guided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.”

Among those who participated in the Ker Puja were BJP Tripura President and MLA Abhishek Debroy and other dignitaries.
