Tripura CM pays surprise visit to IGM hospital sub

Agartala, Apr 13: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday paid a surprise visit to IGM hospital in the city and inspected various departments of the hospital.
Accompanied by Health secretary Dr. Debashis Basu and other health officials, the Chief Minister interacted with the medical staff and patients to know about the service in the hospital.
Speaking to the media, the Chief Minister said the overall service is satisfactory. A few minor issues are there in the old building, the concerned authority would address them soon.
He also said the state government has been working sincerely to develop the health system up to the primary level. He also stressed on maintaining cordial relations between the patients, their family members and the hospital staff including the private security guards.
During his visit, the Chief Minister inspected the Generic Medicine counter functioning in the IGM hospital and took a look at the chart of available medicines.
“All the medicines required for general patients are available in the Jan Aushadhi store in adequate numbers. The doctors are also prescribing generic medicines,” Dr. Saha told reporters.
He said, the number of doctors has been increased in the hospital and emergency ambulance service has been made available. The people are availing the ambulance service by dialling 102.
Replying to a query regarding law and order situation, he said the present state government would not tolerate gunda-raj; no criminal would be spared.
