Tripura CM recalls partition horrors at MBB College prog

Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Friday attended a programme organised at the Rabindra Auditorium of Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) College in Agartala to observe Partition Horrors Remembrance Day.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that while August 15 evokes the joy of Independence, August 14 also reminds the nation of the horrors of Partition, the pain of losing loved ones and the tragic chapter in India's history.

He said every colour of the Tricolour carries the story of the sacrifice, courage and patriotism of countless freedom fighters who devoted their lives to the nation.

The Chief Minister emphasised that Indians share a deep emotional bond with the Tricolour. He said the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign has been undertaken to honour the freedom fighters and nurture the spirit of patriotism among citizens.

Dr. Saha called upon the younger generation (Gen-Z) to develop a deeper sense of patriotism and actively participate in nation building.

He also urged students to learn about the history and horrors of the Partition so that future generations remain aware of the suffering and sacrifices associated with that painful chapter of India's past.
