Agartala, Nov 04: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Friday reviewed the latest status of National Highway projects in the state.
Taking part in the discussion, the Chief Minister passed an instruction to the NHIDCL and PWD officials for timely completion of the projects and maintaining quality of the work.
He advised the implementing agencies for using modern technologies for constructing National Highways and bridges.
Secretary of PWD Kiran Gitte gave a detailed presentation on the national highways and bridges being constructed under the NHIDCL and PWD.
He informed the meeting that works for six national highways and two bridges—one on Gomati river and another on Muhuri river are underway in the state at present.
The six NH projects are- NH08 (old NH 44), NH44-A, NH108-A, NH208, NH208-A and NH108-B, Gitte said, adding that construction of total 888.81 km National highway is in progress. Among them, 804.81 km NH is under NHIDCL and the remaining 84 km is under PWD.
He also said, upgradation of 1.88 km road on Feni river, 48.20 km portion of Agartala- Udaipur NH, 73.70 km portion of Udaipur- Sabroom NH, 74.86 km stretch of Churaibari- Agartala NH and works for 12.90 km bypass road from Khayerpur to Amtali have been completed.
Several other projects- Bharatmala, Agartala Ring Road, CRIF, NLCPR, NESRIP and IBBF have also been discussed in the meeting.
Chief Engineer of PWD- Rajib Debbarma, Additional Secretary Pradip Acharjee and higher officials of NHIDCL were present in the review meeting.
