Tripura CM stresses on setting up world-class Ayurveda, Yoga schools

Agartala, Apr 26: Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday stressed on setting up world-class Yoga and Ayurveda schools in the state by utilizing the trade opportunities with South East Asia.
Addressing the inaugural session of a seminar titled ‘One Earth- One Health: Advantage Healthcare India 2023’ at Pragati Maidan of New Delhi, the Chief Minister also laid emphasis on setting up an Auyrvedic medicine manufacturing unit in the state.
The Chief Minister said, Tripura would turn into the gateway of South East Asia and the state would have huge trade opportunities once the India- Bangladesh Maitri Setu in Sabroom becomes operational.
He said, the state government has been working with a progressive policy to develop the state healthcare services.
A good number of people from Bangladesh visit Tripura for medical purposes. If world-class health infrastructures are developed in the state, it would be largely beneficial for the people of Tripura and Bangladesh, he said.
The Chief Minister also proposed that a border multi-specialty Ayush Hospital may be set up in the state; the Ayush health service is popular among the people of Bangladesh.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the two-day seminar in presence of Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, Chief Minister of Sikkim Prem Singh Ramang, NITI Aayog member Dr. V.K. Paul, joint managing director of Apollo Hospitals Group Dr. Sangeeta Reddy and general secretary of FICCI Shailesh Pathak.
