A special programme at the Netaji Subhash Regional Coaching Centre (NSRCC) in Agartala brought together themes of patriotism, youth empowerment, and social responsibility as Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha unveiled statues of Swami Vivekananda and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.
The event also featured a mega blood donation camp, underscoring the government’s emphasis on both physical vitality and humanitarian service.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister placed the importance of blood donation at the forefront, describing it as a “noble social responsibility” that can save lives in critical situations. “Blood has no artificial substitute.
In times of emergency—whether for thalassemia patients, accident victims, or those undergoing major medical treatment—voluntary donation becomes vital. I urge all healthy citizens to come forward regularly,” Dr. Saha said, encouraging the youth to lead by example.
The camp witnessed an overwhelming response, with nearly 100 donors voluntarily contributing blood. The Chief Minister personally lauded their participation, noting that such initiatives strengthen the spirit of solidarity and compassion in society.
Dr. Saha also used the occasion to highlight the role of sports in shaping a healthier and more disciplined generation. He cautioned against the sedentary lifestyle fostered by technology and mobile dependence, urging parents to involve children in physical activities from an early age.
“Sports not only build physical strength but also instill discipline, leadership, teamwork, and confidence. To take Tripura’s talented players forward, we must continue to strengthen sports infrastructure,” he said.
The unveiling of the statues of Vivekananda and Netaji added a symbolic dimension to the programme. Both leaders’ ideals of patriotism, youth awakening, and service to society were invoked as guiding principles for today’s generation.
The event’s dual focus—on blood donation and sports promotion—was presented as a pathway to building a healthier, more conscious, and stronger society.
Also present at the programme were Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumder and other dignitaries, who joined in emphasizing the need for collective responsibility in nurturing both civic health and national spirit.
