Tripura Congress Workers’ Wing places deputation to Labour Commissioner on 7-point demands

Agartala Nov 21: In a move aimed at overall welfare of the working class and against the deprivation of the unorganized workers, the All Tripura Unorganized Workers’ Association, a Workers’ wing of Tripura Pradesh Congress placed deputation to the Labour Commissioner on Thursday.
The set of seven demands, advocating for the welfare of the workers in the state includes; Immediate reinstatement of DDT workers, Enhanced and regularized salaries for Anganwadi workers, mid-day meal workers, helpers, and ASHA workers, Provision of Rs. 10,000 government assistance to all workers affected by the recent terrible floods, Increase in the daily wage of REGA workers to Rs. 400 and an increase in the daily wage of tea workers, Reinstatement of the Unorganized Workers' Assistance Scheme in the state, Distribution of labor cards to all construction workers and Provision of tool kits to construction workers twice a year.
The deputation was led by Tripura Pradesh Congress president Asish Kumar Saha, State Chairman of Unorganized Workers Association Santanu Pal, District president Tanmoy Roy, among others.
Talking to the reporters, TPCC president Asish Kumar Saha underscored the pressing needs and demands of the working class in the state and called for immediate and effective action of the Labour Department to address the concerns and help in improving the living and working conditions of the workers.
