Agartala, Oct 29: The Tripura government is working with a target to complete the Bru resettlement process by February next year, an official said on Saturday.
Addressing a press conference, Principal Secretary of Revenue department Puneet Agarwal said, as per a quadripartite agreement signed between the Centre, Government of Tripura, Government of Mizoram and Bru leaders, the process is underway to resettle total 37,136 Bru people of 6,959 families from seven Relief camps in North Tripura district to twelve new locations as identified by the Tripura government.
“As of now, 4102 Bru families have been resettled and the process for resettling the remaining families by February 28 next year is underway,” the principal secretary said. He also highlighted the benefits being provided to the rehabilitated families as per the agreement.
The twelve identified locations are- Bongaphapara (L.T. Valley) and Haduklaupara (Ambassa) in Dhalai district, Kaskau (in-situ) of Ambassa and Wainbukcherra- Ranipara of Panisagar in North Tripura, West Kalajhari (Amarpur) in Gomati, Bhandarima- Pushporampara of Kanchanpur, Hamsapara (in-situ) and Khakchang (in-situ) of Panisagar in North Tripura, Ultacherra of Gandacherra in Dhalai district, Gachirampara of Kanchanpur in North Tripura, Shilacherra of Karbook in Gomati and Kala Lawgang of Santirbazar in South Tripura.
Addressing the press conference, the principal secretary said, 1490 families have already been allocated land under Mukhyamantri Cha Shramik Kalyan Yojana. He also briefed about the infrastructural development undertaken by the Revenue department.
He said, under DILRMP (Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme), the Tehshil offices are being computerized. Besides, for development of land mapping system, Bhu Naksha software has been introduced in the state.
Additional secretaries- Anindya Bhattacharjee and Pradip Acharjee and other officials were present in the press conference.
