Agartala, Oct 29: Tripura government has taken an initiative to transform 55 villages into ‘Adarsh Gram’ under Mukhyamantri Adarsh Gram Yojana, an official said on Saturday.
Addressing a press conference, special secretary of Rural Development and Panchayat departments- Sandeep R. Rathod said, an amount of Rs.7.99 crore has already been spent under this project.
He said, 8,611 traders have been brought under Mukhyamantri Swanirbhar Yojana (Gramin) and the beneficiaries have been provided insurance at free of cost.
The Special secretary also said, around 6 lakh families have been given assistance for livelihood under Mukhyamantri Swanirbhar Parivar Yojana from 2020-21 to 2022-23.
He said, a plan has been taken to build 44 Panchayat Bhavans and two District Panchayat Resource Centres. He said, the Panchayat department received various awards as recognition towards achievements in various works. Besides, the state received e-Panchayat awards two times in 2018 and 2022.
Highlighting the major achievement of the Rural Development department, Rathod said, as many as 5330 programmes have been implemented since 2018. Among them, 2486 programmes under MGNREGA and 2862 programmes under other schemes have been implemented at an expenditure of Rs. 670.186 crore. Besides, implementation of 1,899 programmes under the Rural Development department is underway.
He said, to expedite the works and for better monitoring, 23 new RD sub-divisions have been introduced in the state.
