Agartala, Mar 05: The BJP-IPFT government’s swearing-in ceremony in Tripura scheduled on March 8 next is going to be a mega event, according to party sources.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president J.P. Nadda and many other bigwigs are scheduled to attend the oath ceremony to be held at Swami Vivekananda Maidan in Agartala.
Both the state government and the BJP geared up preparations to make the event successful with participation of over 50,000 people.
Chief Minister (caretaker) Dr. Manik Saha, BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee, Union Minister Pratima Bhowmik and party’s NE coordinator Dr. Sambit Patra on Sunday held a preparatory meeting with the party candidates and the leaders of various formations.
In the meeting, they discussed the preparations for the upcoming event as well as finalized some plans to make it historic.
Besides, the Chief Minister along with Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan, West Tripura District Magistrate Debapriya Bardhan and BJP state president inspected the preparations at the venue- Swami Vivekananda Maidan.
Speaking to the media, Dr. Saha confirmed that the Prime Minister, the Home Minister and the party’s national president along with several other central leaders and Chief Ministers of various states would attend the oath ceremony.
The name of the Chief Minister of the new BJP-IPFT government is yet to be announced although Dr. Manik Saha is most likely to continue as the Chief Minister. According to party sources, some changes may take place in the new cabinet.
