Agartala, Nov 01: Tripura government’s ‘Proti Ghore Sushasan’ campaign launched on September 17, the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has been extended till December 25.
The announcement came from Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha during a party programme- Jana Ashirwad Yatra at Chailengta in Dhalai district on Tuesday.
He said, the campaign was scheduled to continue till November end but it was disrupted following Durga Puja and bad weather condition for some days.
“Now, the cabinet has decided to extend the ‘Proti Ghore Sushason’ campaign till December 25, the Good Governance Day which is observed to commemorate the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee,” Dr. Saha said.
He said, the campaign has been launched with an objective to aware and facilitate the people with the benefits of various central and state government schemes at door step.
The state government is working on 28-point targets and the achievement so far is 96 percent, he said, adding that besides raising awareness among the people on the benefits of various schemes, various services are being ensured to the people during this campaign.
As part of the campaign various programmes including vikas meetings, field level camps and district level mela are being organized at various places across Tripura.
Meanwhile, 350 Tipra Motha and CPI-M voters (150 families) from Chailenga, Makarcherra and Gobindabari joined the saffron camp in the rally. The Chief Minister and other leaders welcomed the newcomers to BJP with party flags.
Janajati Welfare minister Rampada Jamatia, BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee, party’s state general secretary Tinku Roy and other local leaders and elected representatives were present in the Jana Ashirwad Yatra.
The Chief Minister also attended several other programmes-- foundation stone laying of 50-bedded field hospital at Langtarai Valley and inauguration of 50-seated ST girls hostel at Bakcherra High school.
Earlier, Dr. Saha also inaugurated a 1000 MT rice go-down at Betcherra in Unakoti district in presence of Agriculture minister- Pranajit Singha Roy and SC Welfare minister- Bhagaban Chandra Das, TIDC chairman Tinku Roy and others. TT PC
