tripura harvest season brings golden fields farmer activity in east kunjaban gp kalyanpur block

The long‑awaited harvest of Aman paddy has begun in the East Kunjaban Gram Panchayat under Kalyanpur Block, filling the fields with golden crops and the air with the bustle of farmers at work. After months of preparation and hard labour, cultivators are now busy reaping the fruits of their effort, with scenes of collective energy and anticipation unfolding across the countryside.

From early morning, farmers have taken to the fields, cutting ripe paddy stalks and preparing to bring their produce home. The sight of golden ears of rice swaying in the breeze has brought smiles to faces, as the season of harvest promises food security and financial relief for many households.

Local farmer Rakhal Pal expressed his relief and optimism: “We have worked hard for months, from preparing the land to transplanting seedlings and applying fertilisers. Now that the paddy is ripe, we have started cutting. If the yield is good, it will benefit us greatly. Timely harvesting will reduce our worries about food for the year.”

Another cultivator, Upendra Pal, highlighted the challenges and hopes tied to the harvest: “Paddy cultivation requires both effort and expense. If we can safely harvest and store the crop, it will bring smiles to farmers’ faces. Our main focus now is to cut, thresh, and preserve the grain quickly. With favourable weather, we can finish the work faster.”

For farmers in East Kunjaban, Aman paddy is more than just a crop—it is a cornerstone of family food security and a source of financial stability. While a portion of the harvest meets household needs, surplus grain is sold in the market, providing crucial income for farming families.

Despite the excitement, farmers remain cautious. With ripe paddy still standing in the fields, sudden rainfall could damage the crop. Many cultivators are racing against time, hoping to complete harvesting before any adverse weather sets in.

The atmosphere in East Kunjaban GP is one of enthusiasm and urgency. Farmers, young and old, are working side by side, determined to secure the fruits of their labour. The golden fields symbolise not only months of toil but also the promise of sustenance and prosperity.
