Tripura hosts e-LISS software training for NE States to strengthen livestock data systems

A two-day training programme on the e-LISS (Electronic Livestock Integrated Sample Survey) software began on Friday at Pragna Bhavan, Agartala, organized by the Animal Resources Development Department (ARDD), Government of Tripura.

 

The initiative is part of the Integrated Sample Survey (ISS) for North Eastern States and aims to enhance digital proficiency in livestock data collection and analysis.

 

The training was formally inaugurated by Jagat Hazarika, Adviser (Stats/PC) & CVO, Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Government of India, in the presence of dignitaries from the central government.

 

The event also commemorated the 150th anniversary of the national song, Vande Mataram.

 

More than 125 officials from across the North Eastern region are participating in the programme. During the inaugural session, Shri Hazarika provided an overview of the ISS and its importance in improving livestock sector planning.

 

Dr. Prachi Misra Sahoo, Principal Scientist at IASRI, New Delhi, delivered a detailed presentation on the functionalities and applications of the e-LISS software.

 

Dr N K Chanchal, IFS, Director of ARDD, Tripura, welcomed the participants and emphasized the role of digital tools in ensuring accurate, timely, and transparent livestock statistics. The training is expected to build regional capacity and support informed decision-making in livestock development.
