Tripura launches online school monitoring system to track learning outcomes

Tripura government on Tuesday launched an online school monitoring system aimed at tracking foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN) outcomes and strengthening oversight of primary and secondary schools across the state.
The system was launched a day after a review meeting chaired by the Chief Minister on education-related issues, with a focus on foundational learning and monitoring mechanisms, officials said.
Speaking at a workshop organised by the NIPUN Tripura Cell and Pre-Primary Cell under the Directorate of Elementary Education, School Education Secretary Dr Milind Dharamrao Ramteke said Block Resource Persons (BRPs) and Cluster Resource Persons (CRPs) would be responsible for regularly inspecting primary schools and ensuring quality education for students from Classes I to V.
Inspection reports will be submitted through the online platform and monitored at both district and state levels, he said.
Ramteke said BRPs and CRPs would be required to visit schools under their jurisdiction at least once every 15 days and closely monitor students' progress. He added that the system would enable real-time data collection and facilitate timely corrective measures wherever required.
Inspectors of Schools will oversee the inspection process and assess learning levels of students from Classes VI to X, with emphasis on surprise visits and spot assessments, he said.
According to officials, teachers will also conduct student assessments through the online platform. The department will review learning outcomes and take appropriate action where required, while recognising teachers whose students demonstrate significant academic improvement.
Director of Elementary Education Harshita Biswas said the department was working towards improving the quality of education and called upon inspectors, BRPs, CRPs and teachers to work in coordination for students' learning development.
She said accountability would be fixed among all stakeholders involved in the process.

Inspectors of Schools from both state-run institutions and the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), along with BRPs and CRPs from all eight districts, were provided hands-on training on the use of the online monitoring system in two phases.
The training was conducted by officials associated with the Vidya Samiksha Kendra, which is responsible for operating and managing the platform.
Officials said the department plans to introduce additional measures in the coming months to strengthen foundational education across the state.
