Agartala, Apr 22: Thousands of Muslims gathered at the Gedu Mia Masjid on Saturday in Agartala and offered prayers on Eid-ul-Fitr. Across the State, Eid-ul-Fitr was observed with devotion and traditional fervour.
In Agartala, the Eid prayers were conducted by the Imam of the mosque Maulana Abdul Rehman who said, “This is a very important occasion. After 30 days of fasting the Eid-Ul-Fitr is celebrated. The celebration sends the message of peace, brotherhood, humanity and love.”
Upholding the call for brotherhood among all religions and languages, he said that Eid-ul-Fitr should spread the message of peace and harmony to maintain unity in diversity in the nation.
Muslims across the world celebrate this historical event with great enthusiasm and respect which marks the end of the holy month of Ramzan.
Our Kailashahar Correspondent adds: The holy Eid festival was celebrated in Kailashahar on Saturday with a call for peace, harmony, brotherhood and cordiality. Special Eid prayers were organized in all small and big mosques in different places of Kailashahar.
People assembled and offered prayers at Town Jame Masjid, Tilabazar, Baburbazar, Rangauti, Noorpur, Dhaliarkandi, Kubjhar, Gaurnagar, Bhagwan Nagar, Noorpur, Safrikandi on a large scale in the morning. All mosques are decorated with lights. No untoward incident happened in Kailasahar around the Eid festival. Besides, additional security forces were also deployed at various places in Kailashahar.
Meantime, on the occasion of the Eid festival, the founder and managing director of Sunshine Tea Processing Company Limited, Mochhabbir Ali, distributed free clothes and donated cash among 1500 underprivileged people of Hirachhara Tea Garden and other tea gardens. It may be noted that several tea gardens are being operated in Kailasahar under Sunshine Tea Processing Company Limited.
Our Charilam correspondent adds: Eid prayers were offered with due dignity in different places of the Jampuijala sub-division of Sepahijala district. Secretary of Tripura Rajyik Emarte Shariah and Nadwatut Tamir Maulana Zakir Hossain Aljalili discussed the significance of Eid-ul-Fitr at the Eidgah Maidan. He wished that the joy of Eid-ul-Fitr would bring a message of peace, harmony and unity among all castes, tribes, Hindus and Muslims. Meanwhile, Eid prayers were offered with due dignity in all Eidgahs including Bishalgarh central Eidgah, Munsibari Eidgah and Eidgah adjacent to the SP office in the Bishalgarh subdivision.
Our Sonamura correspondent adds: On the occasion of Ramadan and Eid, the Muslims perform prayers in Sonamura on Saturday. After fasting during the day for a month and after seeing the moon of the second tithi on Friday evening, preparations for celebrating the Eid festival started on Saturday morning. The Eid festival was celebrated with joy and peace throughout the day in the four police stations of the Sonamura subdivision.
Our Dharmanagar correspondent adds: Along with other parts of the State, The Eid festival was held in Dharmanagar in a peaceful manner. Thousands of Muslims gathered for this holy prayer at Dharmanagar's DNV Road amidst scorching heat. Members of Dharmanagar Press Club arranged cold drinks in front of Hotel Panchaboti and devotees breathed a sigh of relief.
Besides, Eid was observed in other parts of the State including Santirbazar. Cooperative Minister Shukla Charan Noatia took part in the celebration in his constituency and send messages of unity, and brotherhood.
Several Ministers and dignitaries also conveyed good wishes marking the occasion.
