Agartala, Nov 08: Day after the Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on his visit to the state claimed that the BJP will sweep 55 out of 60 assembly seats in the 2023 election, the leader of opposition Manik Sarkar on Tuesday lambasted him of assuring false promises with the BJP’s 2018 vision document.
Sarkar was addressing a party programme at Agartala Rabindra Bhavan, where he hit out at the BJP-led regime in the State for failing to implement the 50,000 jobs and 7th pay commission as was promised in the BJP’s vision document in 2018.
“This man (Assam Chief Minister) came in 2018 before the election and strongly assured the employees of implementing the 7th pay commission and 50000 jobs in the first year of the BJP’s regime in Tripura.
Now, he again came to Tripura before the poll on Monday and expressed his confidence of sweeping the 2023 election, which is nothing but yet another policy of tempting people of this state before the election,” Sarkar said.
He continued slamming the BJP led government and said, “During the last four and half years, no development has been brought to this state other than growing crime rates and drug menace, where people including minors and women are being killed and on the other the prime accused are getting spared.”
“We need to come out from this very complex situation in this state and we need to retain democracy and people’s rights which are being snatched by the BJP government,” he said.
