Tripura Police rescue missing Housewife from Kolkata; Reunite her with family

In a swift and coordinated operation, Jatrapur Police  in Sepahijala district successfully traced and rescued a missing housewife from Kolkata’s Rajarhat area, safely reuniting her with her family. The incident has brought immense relief to residents of Nirbhoypur village.

The woman, Paramita Bhowmik (Majumdar), had left her home on May 23 with her young child, sparking concern among her family when she failed to return. Her husband, Prasenjit Majumdar, along with relatives, launched an extensive search before reporting the matter to police.

Acting promptly, Jatrapur Police initiated a thorough investigation using mobile signal tracking, CCTV footage analysis, and social media monitoring. The probe led them to a hotel in Rajarhat, where Paramita and her child were located.

A special police team, accompanied by her husband and mother-in-law, rushed to the site and successfully rescued both individuals. They were brought back safely to Tripura on Monday. The operation was led by Sub-Inspector Bijoy Chakraborty, under the supervision of Officer-in-Charge Partha Nath Bhowmik, and executed based on credible intelligence inputs.

Authorities have confirmed that an inquiry is underway to determine the circumstances behind her disappearance. Police have advised the family to handle the matter with sensitivity, ensuring no further distress is caused to her.

Local residents have widely praised the timely intervention and professional handling of the case by Jatrapur Police, noting that the rescue reflects the growing effectiveness of technology-driven policing in Tripura.
