Agartala Jan 29: With the announcement of candidate list by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) the candidates have started campaigning in full swing to seek votes from the common people in respective assembly constituencies.
Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha started door0to-door campaign in 8-Town Bordowali assembly since long back. Continuing his efforts to personally reach out to the common people in the area Dr Manik Saha on Sunday reached various residences under Booth no. 51 of Bordowali assembly constituency along with local party leadership and karyakartas.
Earlier, he also listened to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Maan-ki-Baat’ program.
Speaking to the reporters, Dr Saha who will be contesting against Congress candidate and former MLA Asish Kumar Saha in Town Bordowali seat, said, “People have very well realized that it is the Bharatiya Janata Party that has remained by their sides during every thick and thin”.
He added, “Receiving overwhelming response wherever I’m going. People are praising the developmental pace under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi led BJP government in Tripura”.
Meanwhile, BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee who will be contesting for the 9-Banamalipur assembly constituency seat against veteran Congress leader Gopal Roy also conducted door-to-door campaign on Sunday.
Hoping to win the seat with huge margin of votes, Bhattachaejee while speaking to the reporters said, “Banamalipur is my homeland. I was born and brought up here. My political career also started from this area where I remained associated with several welfare works for long years”.
“The senior party leadership have selected me to contest from this area and I hope that people across Banamalipur, my elders, friends and associates will vote me to power so that I can contribute to further development of the constituency”, he added.
Tripura assembly poll is scheduled to be held on February 16, next.
