Sonamura (Tripura), Feb 09, 2023, TRIPURA TIMES Desk
Sonamura, Feb 09: An election rally was held at indigenous community-dominated Taibandal under the Dhanpur constituency on Thursday in which star campaigners of the saffron party– Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sharma and Rajya Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb hit out at the opposition parties and urged the Janajati people to support BJP candidate Pratima Bhowmik in numbers.
Several Janajati leaders also urged people not to be fooled and cast vote for BJP.
In her speech, Pratima Bhowmik informed the participants about the pre-poll promises mentioned in the party’s manifesto realised by the national president of the party JP Nadda in Agartala today. Bhowmik while speaking underlined the promises made for the welfare of the Janajati people like an increment of allowance for the Samajpati, greater autonomy for the TTAADC etc.
Taking a jibe at the Congress-CPIM alliance, Biplab Kumar Deb said the much-touted organizational strength of CPM collapsed in such a manner that it has to join hands with its arch-rival, the Congress.
Deb recalled the violent-ridden politics during the Congress-TUJS and Left Front regimes and lamented, despite bitter enmity between the two parties, Congress leaders are now chanting CPM’s ‘Inquilab Zindabad’ slogan and CPM leaders are responding with ‘Vande Mataram’ slogan of the Congress party.
Deb urged people not to be misled by the opposition and appealed to them to cast votes for BJP ensuing party’s return to power for the second time.
In a hard-hitting speech, Himanta Biswa Sharma said Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced the scheme for free food grains for underprivileged persons and Congress and CPM are shouting slogans after taking the benefits.
