Tripura Power Minister stresses empowerment of Divyangjan, says no one will be left behind in Modi's development drive

tripura power minister stresses empowerment of divyangjan says no one will be left behind in modis development drive

State's Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath has asserted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the benefits of development will reach every section of society, ensuring that no one is left behind.

Speaking at the 76th Social Adhikarita Camp held at South Taranagar Gram Panchayat in Mohanpur, Nath emphasized that the government’s focus is not on sympathy but on empowerment and self‑reliance of Divyangjan.

Highlighting the initiatives under the Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana (RVY) and the Assistance to Disabled Persons for Purchase/Fitting of Aids and Appliances (ADIP) scheme, Nath said these programmes reflect the Centre’s commitment to improving the lives of senior citizens and persons with disabilities. He underscored that the term “Divyang” itself symbolizes dignity and capability, shifting the narrative from dependence to empowerment.

The Minister called for greater social sensitivity and collective responsibility in ensuring that Divyangjan are made self‑reliant. He stressed that awareness is crucial so that government schemes reach genuine beneficiaries without obstruction.

Nath also drew attention to Prime Minister Modi’s long political journey, recalling his rise from a modest background to serving as Gujarat’s Chief Minister and now completing nearly 25 years in public life.

He credited Modi’s leadership for launching transformative welfare programmes such as the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, which connected millions to the banking system and reduced dependence on middlemen by enabling direct benefit transfers.

He further pointed to the Ujjwala Yojana, which provided LPG connections to women and families, and the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, which promoted hygiene and a cleaner environment. Nath added that initiatives to expand housing and drinking water facilities have significantly improved living standards for ordinary citizens.

Reiterating the government’s vision, Nath said the goal is to ensure that development reaches every household, including senior citizens and Divyangjan.

“Prime Minister Modi’s leadership has brought one welfare initiative after another. The government’s mission is to deliver the fruits of development to all, without leaving anyone behind,” he declared.
