Tripura rallies behind Manashree: CM & MP extend support for critical treatment

A wave of compassion has swept across Tripura as the plight of Manshree Debnath, a young girl battling a rare and life-threatening illness, has drawn urgent attention from the state’s leadership and community. With treatment costs running into an overwhelming sum, her family’s appeal for help has sparked a chain of humanitarian initiatives.

Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha confirmed to the media that Manashree and her parents had approached him on June 24 through the Mukhyamantri Samipeshu programme. “We are trying, we are looking into how she can be helped, how this matter can be solved,” the Chief Minister assured, signaling the government’s commitment to explore every possible avenue of assistance.

On Sunday, Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee personally visited Manshree’s residence at Badharghat to assess her condition and speak with her family.

During the visit, he extended personal financial assistance and pledged full cooperation for her advanced medical care. In addition, he handed over an application form to the family for seeking aid from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund, advising them to expedite the process to secure timely support.

The family expressed heartfelt gratitude to the MP for his intervention, while also appealing to the wider public for blessings and prayers for Manshree’s recovery.

In a parallel act of solidarity, employees of Diyan Engineering Works collectively contributed Rs 30,000, visiting Manshree’s home to deliver the aid directly.

Their gesture underscored the growing community movement to stand beside the young girl in her fight against illness.

With the Chief Minister’s assurance, the MP’s intervention, and contributions from local organizations, Manshree’s battle has now become a shared mission — one that reflects the state’s resolve to protect and uplift its children in times of crisis.
