The School Education department in Tripura has taken a series of programmes as part of the celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
The department has set up 26 selfie points in various important locations of the city with QR codes to upload the selfies in the website of central government.
As initiated by Director of School Education Chandni Chandran, the selfie points became popular-- many of the people were found clicking selfies in the City Centre, ML Plaza, Aitorma, Heritage Park, Rabindra Bhavan, Agartala rail station, MBB Airport, Secretariat, Mohanpur, Jirania, Khayerpur and other places.
Prabhat Pheri will be organized in clusters where three or four schools will take part with their students dressed as freedom fighters, singing patriotic songs, or dancing in the tune of Bengali Songs. The seven clusters comprising 22 Schools will cover the entire Municipal Corporation Area.
The central rally will be organized by the Elementary Education Department on August 14 in which almost 5000 students and teachers will participate. Eight renowned schools of Agartala will bring out tableaux and colourful rally.
The Department of School Education invited Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha and Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath to flag-off the colourful rally at 7am.
The students will assemble at Umakanta ground. The rally will end at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan via old RMS Chowhumani, Post Office Chowhumani, Sakuntala Road and Orient Chowhumani.
In South Tripura sit and draw competition, Prabhatpheri with decorated tableaux, National Anthem singing competition, logo designing, dancing , quiz competition, extemporary speech, Safai Abhiyan and flag hoisting in every houses of students and teachers will take place.
In Gomati district also, the students will give speech about the history of National flag, take part in essay writing competition, Prabhatpheri and other competitions to highlight the significance of the Independence Day.
In Shipahijala District apart from these programmes, a self defence competition will be organized among girl students. Similarly massive preparations are being taken in North Tripura, Unokoti, Dhalai, and Khowai. Blood Donation camp has already been organized in North Tripura to mark the occasion.
Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath chaired a meeting in presence of Director of School Education Chandni Chandran, HMs of the respective Schools, representative of Police department and other officials of Education Department on August 3 last to make the programmes of the School Education department successful.
