In a significant development, Tripura Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath on Thursday flagged off a consignment of 1,000 kg of organic white sesame for Gujarat under the Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region (MOVCDNER).
The organic white sesame was jointly marketed by Loknath Organic FPC, Dhalai Organic FPC and Yapri Organic FPC, and supplied to Media Minds, a subsidiary of Amul, in Anand, Gujarat. The development further strengthens the growing acceptance and credibility of Tripura’s organic produce in national markets.
Addressing the occasion, the minister said the shipment was not merely a commercial achievement but the symbolic start of a new chapter in the expansion of Tripura’s organic agricultural markets at the very outset of the New Year. He said the government would work in 2026 to further strengthen the organic marketing system, directly connect farmers with markets, and expand marketing networks at the state, inter-state and international levels.
“2026 will be a year of new possibilities, new initiatives and the opening of new markets for Tripura’s organic agriculture. This shipment reflects the collective efforts of our farmers, FPCs and the government,” Nath said.
The minister also expressed gratitude to the International Competence Centre for Organic Agriculture (ICCOA) and Sheel Biotech for their crucial support in certification, quality control and market linkage.
Extending New Year greetings, Nath conveyed his best wishes to farmers, FPCs, concerned departments and partner organisations, expressing hope that 2026 would usher in higher farm incomes, stronger value chains and new horizons for sustainable agricultural development.
