Tripura: Shopkeeper assaults employee for seeking salary, TSU demands action against culprit

Agartala Nov 09: Strongly condemning and opposing such heinous atrocity on an employee by shop owner TSU (Tribal Students’ Union) demanded an immediate inquiry and punishment of the accused.
A video has gone viral over the social media wherein a person who went to ask for his pending salary was assaulted by the shop owner in the capital city.
According to details, Surajit Tripura, who is believed to be the victim, is a resident of Abhoynagar in Agartala. He filed a case on November 7, 2022 with the officer in-charge of West Agartala Police station against his employer, who is known as Apu Saha and is the owner of ‘Mufti’ clothing showroom.
The FIR states, “….Since 2 to 3 months I was working in Mufti Showroom, Bidurkarta Chowmuhani in Agartala under owner Apu Saha. Today the incident took place at around 4:30 AM. I went there for asking my salary but they brutally assaulted me. Apu Saha along with one staff Sagar Das. They both slapped me and trying to attack me with rod. I request you to kindly look after this incident as soon as possible as this is turning out to be a matter of a serious concern”.
The statement issued by Sujit Tripura, General Secretary TSU central committee mentioned that, Surajit Tripura is a TPSC candidate and took two day’s leave for the TPSC exam that was held on November 6.
Sujit Tripura, demanded proper investigation into the case and asked police to book the accused persons immediately under appropriate law.
