Agartala May 26: STGT Job aspirants on Friday laid seige in front of the chief minister’s residence demanding recruitment of the qualified youths.
Notably, prior to the 2023 assembly elections in Tripura, STGT recruitment was a much-hyped issue where job aspirants gheraoed the residences of several ministers on repeated occasions demanding recruitment and publication of STGT 2022 examination results.
But with the assembly elections on board the recruitment process halted.
Friday, the job aspirants in large numbers, gathered in front of the state chief minister Dr Manik Saha’s residence and sought appointment.
Speaking to the reporters one of the job aspirants said, “After putting a lot of effort we sat for the STGT 2022 examination. But till date the results have not been published and the recruitment process also remains incomplete”.
“According to ground reports, there are more than 5,000 vacant posts and an acute shortage of teachers across the state”, he added.
The unemployed job seekers further said, “We demand the state chief minister who also holds the position of state education minister to look into our hardships with a humanitarian approach and complete the STGT recruitment process at the earliest”.
The job aspirants further expressed disappointment as they were not given any appointment or feedback from the chief ministers’ office after they repeatedly sent letters for an appointment with Dr Manik Saha.
