Agartala, Nov 11: As proposed in the Budget, the state government decided to convert more 25 schools into Vidyajyoti Schools covering 21 assembly constituencies, Education minister Ratanlal Nath said on Friday.
The 25 proposed schools are- Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Vidya Bhavan in Pratapgarh, Belabar and Kabiraj Tilla HS Schools in Badharghat, Office Tilla HS School in Bishalgarh, Srinagar Gabardi HS School in Golaghati, Durlavnarayan and Khaschowmuhani HS Schools in Nalchar, Pitra and Noabari HS Schools in Bagma, Hokutwisa English Medium HS School in Karamcherra, Pratyekroy HS School in Bagbasa, Tilthai R.C. HS School and Huplongcherra T.E. HS School in Jubarajnagar, Ishanpur HS School in Simna, Notun Nagar Girls HS School in Barjala, Reshambagan HS School in Khayerpur, Hariananda English Medium HS School in Radhakishorpur, Madhupur HS School in Kamalasagar, Ghilatali Bazar HS School in Kalyanpur- Pramodnagar, Garjeebazar HS School in Matabari, Matai English Medium HS School in Hrishyamukh, Rangamati HS School in Amarpur, Bamancherra English Medium HS School in Surma, Srirampur Suryamani HS School in Chandipur and Madhu Chowdhury Para HS School in Mohanpur.
The 25 schools would be transformed into Vidyajyoti Schools from the Academic Session 2023-24, he said.
He said, the first batch under Super-30 scheme, launched by the state government to support the needy but meritorious students in engineering and medical studies, secured good results.
As per the results, Dipayan Debnath, a beneficiary under Super 30 scheme (first batch), has got chance for Electronic Engineering in IIT Dhanbad, while six others got chance for MBBS studies, three aspirants got chance in NIT Agartala (Engineering), two got chance in NIT Agartala (B.Sc and M.Sc integrated course), one got chance in Veterinary Science, one in Agri B.Sc, one on B.Pharma, one in Pharma.D, four got chance in B.Sc (Hons).
There are six candidates who could not qualify; they would make second attempt but the benefit of the scheme was for a single attempt, Nath said.
He said, Post Graduate course (Bengali and English) would be introduced in MBB College, Women’s College, ICVC Belonia, Netaji Subhash Memorial College- Udaipur, RKM Kailashahar and Dharmanagar Government Degree College from November 15 next.
The state government already appointed 12 Lecturers. Among 100 seats for Bengali, the students already took admission in 95 seats while out of 100 seats for English, 98 students already took admission, Nath said.
