Tripura University organizes G20 Lecture Series

Agartala, Feb 23: India organizes the G-20 presidency this year under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. To popularize the event among the youths, the Union Government has decided the G-20 University connect programme will be held in 75 universities in India throughout the year. Tripura University is one of the 75 universities.
As a part of this programme the university will conduct a lecture series. The department of Economics has organized first lecture of the lecture series on Wednesday under its UGC-SAP DRS-II. The first lecture was delivered by Prof. Ch. Ibohal Meitei, Department of Management Studies, and Director, Centre for Entrepreneurship and Skill Development, Manipur University on ‘Employability, Entrepreneurship and Skill based Education in the light of NEP 2020: Way Forward’ at the MBB Auditorium of Tripura .
Prof. GP Prasain, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Tripura University has attended in the programme. Head of the Department Prof. Indraneel Bhowmik has delivered welcome address, Prof. Jahar Debbarma, Coordinator of UGC-SAP-DRS-II has delivered a brief lecture in this programme. Others teachers of the department Prof. Ashish Nath, Prof. Paramita Saha, and Dr. Salim Shah and students from different disciplines in the university has attended in the programme.
Students in the MBBS auditorium and those who have logged in from commerce, management and economics department have attended in the programme. Prof. Subhrabaran Das, All India steering committee member and Chairman of G20 university programme committee of Tripura University has delivered the vote of thanks in the north-eastern state has said that the Department of Economics has organized first G20 lecture in the auditorium with financial support of the Department of Economics, Tripura University, under its UGC-SAP DRS-II initiative.
Dr. Jayanta Chowdhury, Head-in-charge of Rural Studies and Convener of G20 university programme committee of Tripura University as well as All India steering committee member has also attended the programme. Prof. Das and Dr. Choudhury have told that some lectures of this lecture series and some programmes for the students will be organized under the G-20 University connect programme in the coming couple of months.
