Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that Tripura holds immense potential for industrialisation in the coming years, which will significantly boost the state's economy and create new employment opportunities.
Speaking at a meeting of the Governing Body of the Investment Promotion Agency of Tripura (IPAT) at Conference Hall of the Civil Secretariat on Wednesday, the Chief Minister said that the benefits of industrial growth would not remain confined to urban areas alone. Rather, it would contribute to the socio-economic development of people living in remote and marginalised regions, particularly those in tribal-dominated areas.
At the outset of the meeting, Industries and Commerce Secretary Kiran Gitte made a detailed presentation highlighting various aspects of Tripura’s industrial potential.Â
He also briefed the Chief Minister on the sectors that are currently attracting interest from prospective investors and the emerging opportunities for investment in the state.
During the high-level meeting, several proposals for new industrial projects and strategies to strengthen Tripura’s investment ecosystem were discussed.Â
The participants also explored ways to establish new industries by effectively utilising the state's valuable natural resources, including rubber, bamboo, and tea. The importance of maintaining ecological balance while pursuing industrial development was also emphasised.
The meeting was attended by Industries and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma, Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, and the Chief Minister’s OSD Paramananda Sarkar Banerjee.Â
Secretaries and senior officials from various departments also participated in discussions aimed at promoting industrial and commercial growth in Tripura.
The Chief Minister reiterated the state government's commitment to creating a conducive environment for investment and ensuring sustainable industrial development that benefits all sections of society.
