TRLM gets SKOCH award for project TRIPTI

Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM), under the Rural Development Department of the Government of Tripura, has been conferred with the SKOCH Award 2025 for its flagship initiative, the Tripura Rural Intervention Project for Transformation and Inclusion (Project TRIPTI), officials said.

The award was presented at the 105th SKOCH Summit held at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, under the theme “Governing Viksit Bharat”.

The SKOCH Award is regarded as one of India’s highest independent civilian honours and recognises outstanding contributions in governance and development, including digital inclusion, finance, technology and social impact. The award places emphasis on measurable outcomes, tangible impact on beneficiaries and promotion of best practices for inclusive growth.

TRLM had nominated Project TRIPTI for the SKOCH Awards 2025. The project is being implemented under the Innovation Fund of the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, in two districts of Tripura — Dhalai district (Ambassa and Ganganagar RD blocks) and North Tripura district (Dasda RD block).

According to officials, Project TRIPTI covers nearly 4,000 of the poorest and most vulnerable rural households through a multi-sectoral Graduation Approach. The initiative focuses on income generation, livelihood enhancement, financial inclusion, social protection, nutrition support, life skills development and convergence with various line departments.

The project gives special emphasis to reaching remote and marginalised communities living in areas far from mainstream development interventions. Through continuous household-level handholding, the initiative facilitates access to government entitlements while strengthening livelihoods and improving health, nutrition and overall resilience.
