The Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) is exploring a proposed partnership with Tata Trusts to strengthen rural livelihoods and beneficiary infrastructure in three Aspirational Blocks of the state.
The proposed collaboration will cover Dasda and Damcherra in North Tripura and Ganganagar in Dhalai district, with discussions underway for a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between TRLM and Tata Trusts.
A video conference meeting was held on Wednesday between TRLM CEO Tarit Kanti Chakma and representatives of Tata Trusts to discuss the proposed programme, its implementation framework and potential areas of collaboration.
Under the proposed five-year programme, scheduled to run from January 2027 to November 2031, Tata Trusts is expected to provide an outlay of approximately Rs. 15 crore. The initiative is envisaged to provide direct project support to around 3,500 rural households, while another 1,500 households are proposed to be covered through convergence with TRLM interventions.
The programme will primarily focus on livelihood activities including piggery, duckery and fishery, alongside the development of infrastructure for beneficiaries to support and sustain livelihood activities.
According to official sources, the proposed partnership is aimed at creating sustainable income-generating opportunities for rural households while strengthening livelihood infrastructure and improving convergence of development initiatives in the three Aspirational Blocks.
Officials from TRLM and Tata Trusts are expected to work out the detailed implementation framework and modalities of the proposed collaboration before the MoU is finalised.
