TRPC to procure rubber from farmers at Rs 110, to provide 12% DA

Agartala May 15: In an effort to boost rubber plantation in Tripura, the Tripura Rehabilitation Plantation Corporation Limited (TRPC) on Monday has announced that it will procure rubber from the farmers at a cost of Rs 110 per kg.
The same was announced by TPRC Chairman Patal Kanya Jamatiya in a press conference.
Addressing the reporters, Jamatiya said, “Looking forward to the overall development of the rubber industry in Tripura the Tripura Rehabilitation Plantation Corporation Limited (TRPC) has decided to procure rubber at a cost of Rs 110 per kg from 1st May, 2023 onwards”.
“Besides, the Corporation has further decided to pay wages to all the employees associated with TRPC within the first week of every month”, she said.
Patal further said that the state government gave 12% DA to the government employees prior to the 2023 assembly elections. But TRPC could not implement the same for its Corporation because of an economic shortfall.
“The employees associated with TRPC will be provided 12% DA at the earliest and also the DRWs and other contractual employees will be regularized”, she added.
Apart from that, the Chairman, TRPC also announced to open new collection centres and rubber processing units across the state looking towards the increase in production of rubber.
Also an industry will be opened at Bodhjungnagar area for production of plywood so that the rubber trees can be used further without wastage.
Headquarter Deputy Managart Santosh Debbarma, West Zone Deputy Manager Abhijit Roy along with Managing Director of TRPC remained present at the press conference.
