U-19 Trophy: Tripura boys in Dehradun

The Tripura Under-19 team, led by Debangshu Dutta, has begun practice sessions in Dehradun ahead of the Vinoo Mankad Trophy one-day tournament. The team reached Dehradun on Monday night and held a light practice session on Tuesday afternoon.

Tripura will face Himachal Pradesh in their opening match on October 9 at the Abhimanyu Cricket Academy ground. The players will have their final practice session on Wednesday.

The team’s primary concern is the weather, as heavy rain on Tuesday morning disrupted practice. Despite that, the players managed a short session.

Team manager Mohammad Nazmul Hossain said, “The boys are eager to hit the field and look motivated. Their body language shows determination—we’re just waiting for the tournament to start.”

Tripura is placed in a strong group that includes Himachal Pradesh, Hyderabad, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, and Chandigarh.

They will play Hyderabad on October 11, Karnataka on October 13, Chhattisgarh on October 15, and Chandigarh on October 17.
