Under-18 cricket: BCC enter QF

Springing a surprise, BCC advanced to the quarter-finals of the State Under-18 Cricket Tournament with a dominant performance at the NEEPCO ground.

The BCC team, formed with players from the Champamura Coaching Centre, defeated a strong United Friends side comfortably by nine wickets.

BCC were in control from the end of the first day. In the second innings, Sandipan Das played a key role with the ball, dismantling United Friends as they were bowled out for just 66 runs.

Ayush scored 23 runs off 22 balls with three boundaries and one six for United Friends.For BCC, Sandipan Das took five wickets for 18 runs, while Akash Debnath and Sagar Sutradhar claimed two wickets each. Chasing a modest target of 11 runs, BCC reached it losing just one wicket, with Sandipan remaining unbeaten on 9 runs. Earlier, in reply to United Friends’ 104 runs, BCC had posted 160 in the first innings.
