The scheduled visit of Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) and Communications, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, to Tripura has been cancelled at the last moment due to unavoidable circumstances.Â
Â
Despite the cancellation, Scindia will join the Destination Tripura: Business Conclave 2026 virtually from New Delhi, delivering his keynote address during the inaugural session.
Â
According to the original programme, the Minister was expected to arrive in Agartala on Thursday to attend the two-day conclave as chief guest. With his physical presence now ruled out, officials confirmed that he will interact with industrialists, investors, entrepreneurs, and policymakers through video conferencing.
Â
The Destination Tripura: Business Conclave 2026 is being projected as a flagship initiative to position Tripura as a rising investment hub in the Northeast. The summit is designed to attract domestic and foreign capital, accelerate industrial growth, generate employment, and showcase the state’s strengths in infrastructure, agriculture, tourism, information technology, logistics, and manufacturing.
Â
State government officials expressed confidence that the conclave will generate substantial investment proposals and open new opportunities for Tripura’s industrial and commercial ecosystem.Â
Â
They emphasized that the event will serve as a platform for meaningful engagement between government agencies, business leaders, and potential investors, laying the foundation for long-term economic growth.
Â
Although Scindia will not be physically present in Tripura, his participation in the conclave’s key sessions via virtual mode is expected to ensure that the programme proceeds as planned and retains its importance as one of the state’s flagship investment promotion events.
