Dharmanagar July 30: With the financial support of Tripura Pollution Control Board, Van Mahotsav and tree planting program was held at Dharmanagar North Point Higher Secondary School on Saturday.

North District Education Officer Sudeep Debnath inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. Chairman of West Chandrapur Gram Panchayat Jhuma Sutradhar was present as the chief guest on the occasion. North Point Higher Secondary School Management Committee Chairman Dr. Rajat Bhattacharya, Secretary Debmoy Bhattacharya, Academic Director Dipankar Gupta, Administrator Kapil Bhattacharya, Principal Incharge Debashish Bhattacharya and others also remained present.

After a short cultural program, the District Education Officer, Sudeep Debnath emphasized importance of trees for the environment in his speech.

The school authorities have taken a two-day program centering Van Mahotsav. The winners of drawing and quiz competition were also awarded on Saturday.
