
In a major step towards ensuring safe drinking water for students, the West Tripura Zilla Parishad has decided to install water purifier machines in 13 schools across different blocks during the current financial year.

The purifiers will provide cold, hot, and normal water simultaneously, enhancing facilities for students and staff. To implement the program, Rs 19.95 lakh will be spent from the Fifteenth Finance Commission’s tied fund.

The schools identified for installation include:
1. Dukli Block: Belabar HS School, IC Nagar HS School, Anandnagar HS School
2. Old Agartala Block: Durga Chowdhury Para Hemanta Smriti School, Old Agartala College
3. Mohanpur Block: Tarapur HS School, Kalagachia HS School
4. Bamutia Block: Natunnagar Girls Hostel, Narsingarh Juvenile Home, Durgangi Ayushman Arogya Mandir
5. Jirania Block: Netaji Progressive English Medium School, Madhya Debendranagar Kumar Bari HS School, Brajnagar English Medium HS School

Officials from the Zilla Parishad stated that the initiative reflects their commitment to improving basic infrastructure in schools and ensuring access to pure drinking water for children.
