Tripura will kick off their campaign on Wednesday in the National Senior Women’s T20 Cricket Championship against Haryana at Roop Singh Stadium, Gwalior. The match will begin at 9 a.m.
Both teams completed their final practice sessions ahead of the tournament opener on Tuesday. The 22-yard pitch at Roop Singh Stadium is expected to assist batters, prompting Tripura to opt for batting first if they win the toss. Mouchaity Debnath and Ambika Das are likely to open the innings, though Supriya Das might replace Ambika in the playing XI at the last moment.
Tripura’s coach indicated that the team will field six batters in the starting lineup against Haryana. The squad’s recent success in a preparatory match in Chandigarh has boosted morale, and captain Hriju Saha and her teammates are confident of a strong start.
The team trained for nearly two and a half hours, focusing on conditioning, fielding, and net sessions. Team manager Ridhi Ranjan Chowdhury, speaking over the phone from Gwalior, said, “The girls are well-prepared and eager to perform. If each player gives her best, we are confident of winning the opening match.”
Tripura will next face Hyderabad on October 9, Karnataka on October 11, Himachal Pradesh on October 13, Chhattisgarh on October 15, Odisha on October 17, and Andhra Pradesh on October 19 in their final group match.
