
Kailashahar, Mar 5: As part of the celebration of the 54th National Safety Day and Safety Week, a workers’ safety awareness camp was organized at the Manu Valley Tea Garden office premises onÂ
Wednesday.Â
The Factories and Boilers Organization and the tea garden authorities jointly organised the camp.
Minister Tinku Roy inaugurated the programme in presence of Chief Inspector of Factories and Boilers Organization Surya Pal Majumder, Unakoti District Labour Officer Ratan Roy and Senior Manager of Manu Valley Tea Garden Sumanta Narayan Poddar.
Daughters of local tea garden workers performed in a cultural event during the programme.Â
The attending speakers emphasized on labor laws and workplace safety.Â
Minister Roy highlighted recent tragic worker deaths in the state and stressed on the need for stricter safety measures in workplaces, including tea gardens and brick kilns.Â
He also pointed out that despite observing National Safety Day for 54 years, worker safety remains a major concern.
