“We Want Recruitment”; ANM/MPW stages protest, detained by police

Agartala Oct 31: Raising question over no recruitment of ANM/MPW and staff nurses for five long years, the qualified unemployed job aspirants organized massive protest in the heart of capital city on Monday.
The agitating job aspirants said, “We have been waiting since 4.5 years for recruitment but no proper answer was given to us”.
Finding no solution we came down on road to meet the Health Minister who also holds the portfolio of Tripura Chief Minister.
The job aspirant unemployed youths further said, “There are a huge number of vacant posts. The state government hospitals are reeling with acute crisis of medical staffs but even after that the state government is not taking any initiative to recruit us”.
However, as soon as the agitating youths started moving towards the Secretariat to meet Tripura Health Minister Dr Manik Saha, police force stopped them and forcefully arrested the agitators.
The job aspirants on the other slammed the police administration for not allowing them to protest democratically and also alleged that few of them were injured in police brutality.
