Sabroom, Nov 06: In a tragic incident, a 30 years old youth died on Tuesday night in a lightning strike.

The incident took place in Battala village of Bijayanagar village panchayat under Sabroom police station, after the youth identified as Biplab Das went for a sleep on Tuesday night after completing his dinner. Wife of the deceased youth informed that there was a heavy lightning at around 2 AM, following which Biplab suddenly fell ill.

He was later rushed to Sabroom sub divisional hospital, where the concerned doctors declared him brought dead. Biplab was the sole bread earner in his family. He was survived by his wife and a child. The incident triggered panic among the family members.

Distressed by the death of Biplab, the family members sought assistance from the government.
