Agartala, Oct 19: Minister for Education Ratanlal Nath on Wednesday said, 156 schools of Tripura would be brought under Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India (PM-SHRI) Yojana.
Addressing a press conference, he said, 14, 500 schools in the whole country would be strengthened under this scheme; the total budget is Rs.2360 crore.
Nath said, each of the 58 blocks and 20 urban bodies would have two PM-SHRI Schools and all components of National Education Policy would be implemented in such schools.
“PM-SHRI schools to be developed as green schools will deliver high quality education,” he said.
The PM-SHRI Yojana would also enable the students to get entrepreneurship opportunities, according to the Education minister. He added that, evaluation of students’ learning process would take place on regular basis. The scheme would be launched in the state from the Academic Year 2023-24.
The selected schools need to have good connectivity, infrastructure, fire safety measures, drinking water facility, high enrolment, Online Tracking System, teacher’s ID cards, Library, sports equipment and other required facilities.
The Minister for Education also informed the media that Chakma Language would be introduced in more 36 schools—26 JB Schools, 6 SB Schools, 2 High Schools and 2 Higher Secondary Schools.
