18 Asst Professors for Kokborok get offer letters: Education Minister

Agartala, Jan 06: Tripura Education minister Ratanlal Nath on Friday said that 18 Assistant Professors for Kokborok subject have been appointed in General Degree Colleges.
Addressing a press conference at his office chamber in the civil secretariat, he said, the 18 Assistant Professors have been given offer letters on Friday.
Highlighting other major decisions taken in the department, Ratan Lal Nath said, “Under the 'Lakshya Project' launched by the state government to facilitate coaching of UPSC aspirants, financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh was given to the aspirants who passed the prelims examination. In a bid to encourage the students further, the state government has increased the amount to Rs 2 lakh”.
The Education minister said that 16 Post Graduate Teachers working in various colleges of the state have been recognized as Assistant Professors.
Subsequently, for creation of 5 more posts of Assistant Professors, approval from the State Education Department has been sent to the Finance Department.
He also said that the salary of 228 contract RMSA teachers in the state has been increased by Rs 4,010. They would now get Rs. 30,740 per month, Nath told reporters.
“They used to get Rs 26,730 monthly. At present, their salary has been increased by Rs 4,010, which means they will get a monthly salary of Rs 30,740”, he said.
