19 ITIs in Tripura to be modernized at Rs 683.27 cr, agreement signed

Agartala, Nov 20: In a transformative journey for 19 government ITIs in Tripura, the Industries and Commerce department and Tata Technologies Limited signed an agreement on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha attended the event at Tripura Institution for Transformation (TIFT) in Agartala.
The Chief Minister said, the initiative would be implemented at an expenditure of Rs. 683.27 crore-- the Tata Technologies Limited will bear 86 percent of the total expenditure (Rs 570 crore) and the State Government would contribute the remaining 14 (Rs 112 crore).
The investment of total Rs. 683.28 crore would be utilized for training, technological transformation and other developments of the ITIs, empowering the state's youth, the Chief Minister added.
He said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants no state to be left behind and the state government has been working in the same direction.
As per the MoA, the Tata Technologies Limited will work for five years with provisions for teacher training and maintenance. Teachers from Tata Technologies will also be engaged.
Minister for Industries & Commerce Santana Chakma, and Minister of State for Industries & Commerce Brisaketu Debbarma along with Secretary Kiran Gitte and Director Viswashree B were also present in the MoA signing ceremony.
The Chief Minister in a social media post commented, "Signing of MoA marked a significant milestone towards upgrading ITIs in Tripura & empowering our youths with technological transformation."
